Unmarried, On Display

A single woman in Indian culture is often spoken about in relation to her marriage status as opposed to her other accomplishments; this creates a dynamic where I always felt as if my body was "on display" for marriage, as opposed to being a vessel through which I live. This helped me personify this, especially in the era of online dating.
